CatHunter is operated by CatHunter Yazılım Hizmetleri Limited Şirketi (Istanbul, Türkiye). We’re building a public-interest layer for cities and communities: a simple infrastructure that gives every cat a visual identity (CatID) so street cats and pets can be seen, cared for, and connected with guardians, neighbors, vets, and municipal services. Our priority is animal safety and responsible, cats-only use of the platform.

1. Definitions

“Application” / “App” — the CatHunter mobile software.
“Service” — the App and related services, features, and website(s).
“Company” / “we” / “us” / “our” — CatHunter Yazılım Hizmetleri Limited Şirketi, Istanbul, Türkiye.
“User” / “you” — any person accessing or using the Service.
“Account” — a profile used to access the Service.
“User Content” — photos, videos, captions, tags, and other materials you upload.
“CatID” — CatHunter’s proprietary concept, schema, identifiers, labels, and related datasets that provide a visual identity for cats.
“Location Data” — geodata associated with uploads or tagging.
“Research Partners” — trusted startups, academic institutions, and municipalities working on bona-fide scientific or animal-welfare projects.
“Sublicense” — a limited license we may grant to Research Partners under strict research/welfare terms.
“Personal Data” — has the meaning set out in our Privacy Policy.

2. Introduction

Welcome to CatHunter. We’re building something simple with a big purpose: give every cat a visual identity (CatID) so that street cats and pets can be seen, cared for, and connected to the people and services around them. CatHunter isn’t a social network or a shelter; it’s infrastructure — a small but essential layer that helps cities, neighbors, vets, and guardians speak the same language about the animals who share our streets.

CatHunter is for cats only — domestic and stray. Please upload photos and videos only of cats, taken respectfully and without risk to any animal. To protect them, the app does not show precise coordinates: location may be generalized or delayed, and we never display exact points on the map. If we encounter credible reports or evidence of animal cruelty or neglect, we may suspend an account and, where appropriate, report the incident to law enforcement. This isn’t just about content; it’s about care — keeping cats safe while making them visible.

3. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be 13 years or older to use the Service. Creating an Account may require email+password and/or a social login. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activities under your Account. Do not impersonate others, operate deceptive multiple accounts, or share your credentials.

Social logins
If you choose Facebook, Google, or Apple sign-in, we request only minimal scopes (name, email, avatar). We do not publish to your external social networks on your behalf unless you explicitly authorize posting through the relevant platform’s permissions flow (e.g., granting publish/post scopes or tapping a share/post action). We never post silently.

4. Cats-Only & Community Standards

CatHunter is cats-only. Non-cat content (including humans or other species) is not allowed.
Prohibited content/behavior includes:

• Doxxing or sharing precise location data of people or animals;
• Stalking, harassment, threats, or coordinated abuse;
• Animal cruelty depictions/promotion, traps, harmful “challenges,” or instructions facilitating hunting, capturing, or harming animals;
• Attempts to track animals or users in real time or to bypass location obfuscation and safety features;
• Uploads that violate law, third-party rights, or these Terms.

We may remove content or suspend Accounts for violations.

5. Animal Safety & Location Privacy

CatHunter does not display precise cat locations. We apply location generalization of at least 300 meters (and may increase this distance) and may further obfuscate or delay visibility to reduce risks for animals. Users must not disclose exact coordinates in captions, comments, or via any means.

6. Reporting & Appeals

Reporting. To report suspected abuse, safety risks, or violations, email support@cathunter.app. We typically review reports within 48 hours and may remove content, suspend Accounts, and, where appropriate, contact law enforcement.

Appeals. If your content is removed or your Account is suspended, you may appeal by emailing support@cathunter.app within 14 days of our notice. We will review and respond within a reasonable time and may request additional information.

7. User Content & Licenses

You retain ownership of photos, videos, and related materials you upload (“User Content”).

By submitting User Content, you grant CatHunter a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and process your content solely to operate, provide, and moderate the Service.

7.1 Model Improvement (AI)
To improve recognition quality, we may use User Content to train, evaluate, and improve our models and detection systems. You can opt out of model-training use in settings at any time; opting out does not affect your ability to use the Service.

7.2 CatHunter Channels (Promo)
You also grant CatHunter a limited right to feature selected User Content in our own channels (e.g., the CatHunter website, blog, or official social media) with reasonable attribution to your username/account, unless you set your content/account to private or opt out of promo usage in settings (where available).

7.3 Research Sublicensing (De-identified / Aggregated)
To support bona-fide scientific and animal-welfare projects, CatHunter may grant limited sublicenses to trusted startups, academic institutions, and municipalities to access de-identified or aggregated derivatives of User Content and related data solely for scientific research and animal-welfare purposes (e.g., population studies, vaccination/feeding planning, shelter capacity planning).
Such access will be governed by written agreements that:

• (i) restrict use to the stated purpose;
• (ii) prohibit re-identification, precise location disclosure, and any harmful use;
• (iii) require appropriate privacy and security safeguards; and
• (iv) require deletion/return of data at the project’s end.

This sublicensing right does not permit unrelated commercial exploitation of your content.

8. Intellectual Property; CatID

All intellectual property in the Service — including the App, logo, interface, datasets, models, and underlying technologies — is owned or licensed by CatHunter Yazılım Hizmetleri Limited Şirketi.

CatID and CatHunter IP. The CatID concept, schema, identifiers, labels, and related datasets are CatHunter intellectual property. Use of CatID, CatID datasets, or the CatID schema in external systems is permitted only with prior written authorization from CatHunter. Nothing in these Terms grants a license to use CatID or the CatHunter brand except as explicitly allowed within the Service.

9. Real-World Safety & Conduct

Use good judgment when filming or photographing. Do not trespass, violate private property, obstruct traffic, or put yourself/others/animals at risk. You are solely responsible for your conduct and compliance with local laws while using the Service.

10. Data Protection
Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, share, and protect data. By using CatHunter, you acknowledge and accept the Privacy Policy available at https://cathunter.app/privacy.

11. Future Monetization & Ads

CatHunter is currently free. In the future, we may introduce in-app purchases, subscriptions, or advertising. When these features launch, the relevant terms (e.g., refunds, billing cycles, ad disclosures) will take effect upon activation and publication of updated terms.

12. Legal Notices (Maps / Attribution)

The map layer uses OpenStreetMap data. © OpenStreetMap contributors. Data is available under the Open Database License (ODbL); cartographic styling may be subject to additional terms. Where required, attribution is displayed in-app and on our site.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates are effective upon publication in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the Service after publication constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
