CatHunter is operated by CatHunter Yazılım Hizmetleri Limited Şirketi. We build tools that give cats a visual identity — CatID — so guardians, neighbors, vets, shelters, and local communities can recognize and protect them.
CatHunter is designed around a few simple rules: cats first, privacy by design, no exact public locations, and no use of the app for anything outside cat recognition and animal welfare.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what controls you have.

CatHunter is for users aged 13 and older.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used CatHunter or shared personal data with us, contact us at support@cathunter.app and we will review it.
We collect only the data we need to run CatHunter, improve cat recognition, keep the app safe, and support users.
When you create or use an account, we may collect:
CatHunter currently supports Apple and Google login.
CatHunter is built around cat recognition. When you use cat/photo features, we may collect:
Cat photos and CatID records may be used to help CatHunter recognize cats, maintain CatID history, and support animal-welfare features.
CatHunter may collect location data when you use cat, photo, or location features.
We do not show precise user or cat locations to other users. Public or user-facing location information is limited to a broader area, such as a district or city, and may be generalized further where needed for safety.
We do not use CatHunter to continuously track your background location.
Location data helps us support local rankings, local cat activity, and CatID history without exposing exact locations.
We may collect technical data such as:
This helps us keep the app stable, secure, and usable.
If you report a photo or another safety issue, we may collect:
Reports may be reviewed by CatHunter moderators.
We use data to:
We do not sell your personal data.
CatHunter uses AI to analyze cat photos and support cat identification.
This may include analyzing visual cat features, creating technical records, comparing detections, and improving CatID recognition.
You can choose whether your cat photos help improve CatID recognition in Settings. Turning this off does not affect your normal CatHunter experience.
CatHunter does not use human facial recognition and does not create biometric profiles of people.
CatHunter may use analytics and diagnostic tools to understand how the app works, fix bugs, improve performance, and improve user experience.
We may use services such as Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Amplitude, UXCam, fastsight.ai, or similar tools.
Some basic analytics and diagnostics may be used to keep the app reliable and secure. Optional Beta Features may collect additional product usage information only if you choose to enable them.
Beta Features are optional. They help us find bugs and improve the app. They only record activity inside CatHunter.
Where session recording or similar tools are used, we aim to mask sensitive fields and avoid intentionally recording private content such as passwords, login tokens, payment information, or other sensitive inputs.
You can withdraw optional consent in Settings.
We do not sell personal data.
If future advertising or analytics partners create a “sale” or “sharing” category under applicable privacy laws, you can opt out in Settings using Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.
If you allow this in Settings, CatHunter may feature your cat content on CatHunter-owned channels, such as our app, website, social media, and store pages.
We may credit your username or nickname where appropriate.
You can turn this off in Settings. Turning it off does not affect your normal use of CatHunter.
CatHunter may use de-identified or aggregated cat and location data for animal-welfare, research, safety, and community purposes.
For example, de-identified data may help with population studies, local cat activity, vaccination planning, shelter planning, or similar animal-welfare work.
When we work with trusted research, academic, municipal, or animal-welfare partners, we use safeguards designed to prevent re-identification, misuse, or disclosure of precise locations.
CatID identifiers, CatID records, datasets, embeddings, and related technical systems remain CatHunter intellectual property.
We may share data with:
We do not publish your content to external social networks unless you choose to do so or allow CatHunter to feature your content through the relevant setting.
CatHunter is operated globally. Our main data storage and processing are intended to be on servers in the European Union.
Some service providers, analytics tools, support systems, or technical partners may process data in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as contractual protections or standard data protection clauses.
You can request a copy of your CatHunter data in the app.
In Settings, use Request my data. You will be asked to enter the email address where you want to receive your archive.
We aim to prepare and send the archive within 7 days. The email will include a secure download link. For security reasons, the link will expire after 14 days. If the link expires before you download the archive, you can request a new export from the CatHunter app.
Your archive may include account information, uploaded cat photos, photo metadata, location data linked to your photos, CatID records associated with your account, report history where applicable, and other information reasonably connected to your account.
Some internal technical data, security logs, anti-abuse signals, and CatID technical data may not be included where disclosure could affect security, safety, intellectual property, or the rights of others.
You can delete your account in Settings using Delete my account and data.
Account deletion is permanent. After deletion, you lose access to your account, profile, photos, rankings, and account history.
When you delete your account:
CatID records, cat photos, detections, embeddings, and related cat-recognition data may remain after being de-identified and disconnected from your account. This helps protect CatID history, animal-welfare continuity, and the visual identity of cats.
If a photo contains personal data, unsafe child-related content, human faces, documents, license plates, private information, or other prohibited material, moderators may remove or restrict it.
After deletion, you may register again with the same Apple or Google account, but it will be a new account. Your old account data will not be restored.
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including account operation, CatID history, security, moderation, legal compliance, abuse prevention, research, animal welfare, and service improvement.
In general:
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
You can use in-app controls where available or contact us at support@cathunter.app.
We may need to verify your identity before completing some requests.
Do not upload content that violates another person’s privacy or rights.
This includes photos showing clear human faces, documents, license plates, private addresses, private messages, or other personal data without permission.
CatHunter is cats-only. The app is not for uploading photos of people, children, documents, screens, printed images, toys, or unrelated content.
CatHunter includes user-generated content safety controls.
Users can report photos. Users can block other users through the report flow. Reported content enters a moderation queue. We aim to review reports within 24 hours.
Confirmed violations may result in content removal, warning, suspension, permanent account blocking, or other restrictions.
We may also keep limited moderation and abuse-prevention records to protect users, animals, and the service.
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, and alteration.
No online service can be perfectly secure. If you believe your account or data may be at risk, contact support@cathunter.app.
CatHunter may use third-party services for maps, infrastructure, analytics, diagnostics, hosting, email, support, moderation, and security.
Map data may include OpenStreetMap or similar map providers. Map and location features are used with privacy and animal safety in mind.
We may update this Privacy Policy when CatHunter changes, when laws change, or when we improve our privacy practices.
Updated versions take effect when published in the app or on our website. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
