Terms of Service

CatHunter is a platform operated by CatHunter Yazılım Hizmetleri Limited Şirketi (Istanbul, Turkey) designed to provide visual identity for cats through a mobile application. The service focuses on animal safety and responsible use.

1. Age & Account Requirements

Users must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. Account holders bear responsibility for protecting their credentials and ensuring all activities under their account comply with these Terms.

2. Content Restrictions

The platform is explicitly cats-only. Prohibited material includes:

• Harassment or abusive content directed at other users
• Depictions of animal cruelty
• Doxxing — disclosure of personal information without consent
• Attempts to bypass location privacy or safety features
• Any content unrelated to cats or animal welfare

3. Location Privacy

CatHunter implements location generalization of at least 300 meters to protect animal safety, and applies additional obfuscation and delay measures. Users must not attempt to circumvent these protections or disclose precise coordinates of animals in captions or comments.

4. User Content Rights

Users retain ownership of uploaded materials. By uploading content, you grant CatHunter a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and process that content to operate and improve the Service.

Use of your content for AI model training requires separate opt-in consent, which you may withdraw at any time in Settings without affecting your access to the Service.

5. Research Use

De-identified or aggregated content may be sublicensed to research institutions, academic organizations, and municipalities under written agreements restricting use strictly to scientific and animal-welfare purposes. Such agreements prohibit re-identification, commercial exploitation, and require data deletion at project end.

6. Intellectual Property

CatID identifiers, datasets, schema, and related technologies remain the exclusive intellectual property of CatHunter Yazılım Hizmetleri Limited Şirketi. Use of CatID outside of CatHunter requires prior written authorization from the company.

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

• Use the Service for any purpose other than cat identification and animal welfare
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract CatID data or models
• Use automated tools to access or interact with the Service without permission
• Impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. CatHunter does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy of AI identification results, or completeness of cat records in the database.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CatHunter shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

10. Termination

CatHunter reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at its sole discretion, with or without prior notice. You may close your account at any time via the App or by contacting support@cathunter.app.

11. Changes to Terms

CatHunter may update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms take effect upon publication in the App or website. Continued use of the Service after publication constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Istanbul, Turkey.
