Terms of Service

Last updated: June 15, 2026

CatHunter is operated by CatHunter Yazılım Hizmetleri Limited Şirketi. CatHunter gives cats a visual identity — CatID — through a mobile app built for cat recognition, animal welfare, and responsible community use.

By using CatHunter, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who can use CatHunter

You must be at least 13 years old to use CatHunter.

You are responsible for your account, your login methods, your activity, and any content uploaded through your account.

CatHunter currently supports Apple and Google login.

2. CatHunter is cats-only

CatHunter is for cat recognition and animal-welfare use.

You may not use CatHunter to upload unrelated content, identify people, track people, expose exact locations, harass others, scrape data, or misuse CatID records.

CatHunter is not a general social network, file storage service, people-recognition tool, surveillance tool, or advertising platform.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate information where required and keep your account secure.

You may not:

If you delete your account, deletion is permanent. You may create a new account later with the same Apple or Google login, but old account data will not be restored.

4. User content

You may upload cat photos and related cat information through CatHunter.

You are responsible for the content you upload.

By uploading content, you grant CatHunter a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, process, analyze, moderate, and use that content to operate CatHunter, maintain CatID records, improve cat recognition, support animal-welfare features, enforce these Terms, and protect users, cats, and the service.

This license includes the right to create and use CatID technical data, detections, visual features, embeddings, and related records.

You also allow CatHunter to use your content in CatHunter-owned channels, such as our app, website, social media, and store pages, unless you turn off the relevant setting in the app.

You keep ownership of your content, but CatID identifiers, CatID records, datasets, embeddings, schema, models, and related technologies remain CatHunter intellectual property.

5. AI recognition and model improvement

CatHunter uses AI to recognize cats and maintain CatID records.

You can choose in Settings whether your cat photos help improve CatID recognition. Turning this off does not affect your normal CatHunter experience.

CatHunter does not use human facial recognition and does not create biometric profiles of people.

6. Public and community nature of CatID records

CatHunter is built around shared CatID history.

Cats and CatID records may remain in CatHunter after an account is deleted, once de-identified and disconnected from the deleted account. This helps avoid losing a cat’s visual identity, detection history, and welfare continuity.

Other users cannot freely browse all of your cats like a public social profile. A cat generally becomes visible to a user through their own CatHunter activity, such as detecting the cat themselves.

7. Location safety

CatHunter may use location data when users use cat, photo, or location features.

You must not use CatHunter to expose precise cat locations, private addresses, private places, or the location of another person.

You may not try to bypass location generalization, safety limits, anti-abuse controls, or privacy protections.

CatHunter does not show exact user or cat locations to other users.

8. Prohibited content

You may not upload, submit, share, or attempt to distribute content that includes:

CatHunter has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material, child exploitation, grooming, sexualized child content, and similar child-safety violations. Such content may be removed, accounts may be permanently blocked, and reports may be escalated where appropriate.

9. Reporting, blocking, and moderation

CatHunter includes a user-generated content safety system.

Users must accept Terms that prohibit objectionable content and abusive behavior. Users can report photos. Users can block other users through the report flow. Reported content enters a moderation queue. We aim to review reports within 24 hours.

Confirmed violations may result in content removal, warning, suspension, permanent account blocking, or other restrictions.

Moderators may take different actions depending on severity, context, and prior behavior.

Possible outcomes include:

If your content is removed, you may receive an in-app notice explaining the type of violation. If you receive a warning, the next confirmed violation may result in permanent blocking and removal of violating content.

If your account is permanently blocked, you may lose access to CatHunter and your content may be hidden from users.

When you block another user through the report flow, their content will no longer be shown to you. The other user will not be told that you blocked them.

10. Bad-faith reports and abuse of moderation

The report system exists to protect cats, users, privacy, and CatID quality.

You may not abuse reports to harass users, manipulate CatID records, attack competitors, remove legitimate content, or create false moderation claims.

Bad-faith reporting may lead to warnings, restrictions, suspension, or permanent blocking.

11. Account deletion

You can delete your account and personal data in Settings.

Deletion is permanent. You will lose access to your account, profile, photos, rankings, and account history.

After deletion, CatID records, cat photos, detections, embeddings, and related cat-recognition data may remain after being de-identified and disconnected from your account.

Some limited non-PII records may also be kept where needed for security, legal, or abuse-prevention purposes.

12. Research and animal-welfare use

CatHunter may use de-identified or aggregated data for research, animal welfare, safety, product improvement, and community purposes.

CatHunter may work with trusted research, academic, municipal, startup, or animal-welfare partners under terms designed to prevent re-identification, misuse, unrelated commercial exploitation, or disclosure of precise locations.

13. Intellectual property

CatHunter, CatID, software, models, datasets, identifiers, schema, embeddings, detection systems, design, branding, logos, and related technology are owned by CatHunter or its licensors.

You may not copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, extract, reproduce, sell, license, or use CatID data, models, embeddings, datasets, or app functionality outside CatHunter without written permission.

You may not use automated tools, bots, crawlers, scrapers, or similar methods to access CatHunter unless we explicitly allow it.

14. No paid features yet

CatHunter currently does not offer paid subscriptions or paid in-app purchases.

If we add paid features in the future, we will provide the relevant payment, cancellation, and refund terms before or when those features become available.

15. Availability and changes

CatHunter is still evolving. Features may change, improve, move, or be removed.

We may update CatHunter to improve safety, recognition quality, privacy, moderation, performance, or user experience.

We do not guarantee that CatHunter will always be available, error-free, or able to identify every cat correctly.

16. Disclaimers

CatHunter is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We do not guarantee:

CatHunter is not veterinary, medical, legal, emergency, or municipal advice.

17. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CatHunter is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages arising from your use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where the law does not allow such limitation.

18. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to CatHunter if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for users or animals, abused the service, submitted prohibited content, attempted to bypass safety systems, or caused legal or security risk.

Severe violations, including child-safety violations, animal cruelty, threats, doxxing, privacy violations, illegal content, or repeated violations after warning, may result in permanent account blocking.

You may stop using CatHunter at any time. You may delete your account in Settings.

19. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect data.

By using CatHunter, you also acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when CatHunter changes, when laws change, or when we improve safety, privacy, or moderation rules.

Updated Terms take effect when published in the app or on our website. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.

21. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Istanbul, Turkey, unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.
